Hairballs in Cats and Rabbits, a Natural Solution

Hairballs in Cats and Rabbits, a Natural Solution

Hairballs can present a challenging concern.  Since traditional hairball formulas often contain mineral oil, it’s especially important to use an all natural product. Mineral oil is a petroleum based product. Petroleum based products are for vechiles – not felines or rabbits.

For cats, when my clients can put them on a homemade diet,   this will help eliminate hairballs all together. However if feeding a homemade diet is not possible this completely natural product presents a viable alternative for eliminating hairballs in either cats or rabbits.

Ingredients that Nourish Healthy Skin and Fur

Lecithin promotes healthy nails, fur and skin while also regulating skin hydration and resiliency.  Healthy skin directly influences how well the fur will grow, function and shed. Deficiencies of Lecithin can lead to loss of skin elasticity resulting in dryness, scaliness, increased fur matting, discoloration of fur, lack of hair regrowth and increased shedding.

Omega 3 & 6 Fatty Acids along with Lecithin have been added to nourish and maintain skin hydration, resiliency, and hair health which reduces excessive shedding.  These Fatty Acids not only provide essential fats for skin and coat condition, but they also protect the GI tract and help in the removal of hairballs that may have formed.

Biotin ( a B vitamin) is needed for healthy fur and skin. Deficiencies of this nutrient have been linked to skin disorders and shedding.

Methionine is a sulphur containing essential amino acid and a powerful antioxidant.  It fosters  healthy hair improving its strength and quality.  Methionine also supports skin tone and pliability.  This essential nutrient is commonly lacking in commercial feline diets.

Zinc is involved in keratin and collagen production, which is important for hair and skin health. Zinc is required for fatty acid metabolism. It also helps maintain healthy skin tissue and hair follicles, which reduces shedding.

Cranberry powder helps support the urinary tract, which is a common area of irritation in cats that can cause excessive grooming and shedding.

.

Hairball Elimination Support

Psyllium is a soluble fiber that supports the GI tract health and function. It also helps pass hair through the GI tract and is provided only in the amount necessary to deal with hairballs.
