Hi, my name is Elena Galbraith.

My husband I own Beaker’s Parrot Place. We’ve been hand raising and socializing baby companion parrots for folks in the Pacific Northwest since 2008. We have many satisfied customers who like the unique buying experience we offer which is ‘raised in a home FOR a home.”

We offer our personal flock and the babies we hand-raise a variety of fresh fruits and veggies along with high quality pellets and treats.

We were VERY excited to find Leslie Moran’s Best Bird Food Ever! I love the fact that it is organic, and that the ingredients have similar germination rates. And, if you follow Leslie’s sprouting process it does not spoil. We offer the Best Bird Food Ever! Sprouting blends to our birds as part of their main diet.

In addition to serving sprouts by themselves or mixed with other veggies, I often put some organic almond butter on a low sodium cracker and press a handful of sprouts into the cracker. I’ve also tried some creative ways to serve my sprouts.

One creative option I tired was to stuff partially cooked pasta shells with Best Bird Food Ever sprouts and a surprise blueberry inside!  These were a great with the fids.

Then I tried Leslie’s sprouts in pancakes.  I didn’t want to expose the sprouts to too much heat so carefully sandwiched the sprouts in the batter to minimize losing any nutritional value. Doing so also provided a refreshing crunch for the birds.

I’m always looking for new ways to serve sprouts and would love to hear from Leslie’s readers with their creative recipes – reach me at elena@beakersparrotplace.com
